The 2014 Golden Globes and the Fashion it inspires

Something you may not know about me: I love award shows. I throw an Oscar party every year. I try to watch all the Best Picture Nominations and then subsequently use them to make punny appetizers. For example, last year’s menu included “Beverages of the Southern Wild”, “Frankenweenies”, “Life of Pi-zza” & “Django Unchips” w/ “Salsa Linings Playbook”. To kick off awards season, I watched the Golden Globes last night and was inspired by the film and TV nominations to come up with some red carpet looks of my own.

American Hustle: Dramatic neckline and playful fringe make this gown a modern take on 70s fashion.

Gravity: This film is all about visual drama so why not go for stunning sequins like in this futuristic one-shoulder gown?

Frozen: This Monique Lhuillier creation is fit for a Disney princess, especially the Snow Queen kind.

Downton Abbey: Lady Mary would definitely approve of this Marchesa gown‘s embroidery.
