Olympics fever has taken the nation. Team Canada has won a lot of hardware last week and looks to win some more this week. I’ve really enjoyed watching a lot of the events and cheering our athletes on. Of course, I’m looking forward to hockey but I absolutely loved watching all of the figure skating events. The team event, new to the Olympics, was so fun. Russia really brought their A-game. Pairs figure skating was amazing. The Men’s singles event was so tense with Patrick Chan finishing with a silver. Ice dancing this weekend was beautiful. Tessa and Scott were perfect but apparently not good enough to beat Meryl and Charlie. Aside from the skating, the costumes have got me to thinking of ways to add a little Olympic flair to everyday looks:
1. Meryl Davis and Charlie White have been picture perfect so far in ice dancing. This DKNY sequin skirt is perfect to add sparkle to any wardrobe.
2. Kaetlyn Osmond from Team Canada looks like she’s having the time of her life whenever she performs. Channel your inner star with this skater dress from Urban Outfitters.
3. Yulia Lipnitskaya helped Russia win gold for the Team event and she is breathtaking to watch. Oh and by the way, she’s only 15. Whether you agree with her song choice or not, she outskated the others in this red ensemble that, controversy aside, looked great on her. I think this Rag & Bone coat is a close match.
I can’t wait to watch the conclusion of the Ice Dance competition and the ladies singles event this week. Go Team Canada!
