Happy Monday! This week will be the last full week of regularly scheduled blog posts. I’m leaving for Montreal on Saturday and will be back in Toronto to ring in the New Year. Speaking of 2015, here are some dresses I’m eyeing:
1. This would be my dream dress if I had fancy plans for New Year’s Eve
2. I have a similar dress in navy that I wouldn’t be opposed to wearing
3. You can never go wrong with sequins
4. This is a practical choice for the Toronto winter
5. Something short, something bright, something hot. Perfect.
Happy 2nd week of December! Inspired by my office holiday party this Friday, I came up with different looks for any holiday party you find yourself invited to this season:
1. Work party appropriate
2. If you’re lucky enough to get invited to a very fancy, formal holiday gala
3. The opposite of the ugly Christmas sweater
Hope everyone has a great Monday.
December is upon us and before you know it, it’ll be Christmas. I like to get my holiday shopping done as early as possible. So like last year, I’m doing gift guides the three things this blog focuses on for the most part, fashion, food and fandom. Here’s the first in the series:
1. Luxe but useful gloves
2. Everyone always needs a scarf. This would be good for men & women.
3. Something sparkly
4. Sturdy but stylish
5. A festive tie
6. Classic wallet
Last year, I did a Gossip Girl-inspired post on what to wear for (American) Thanksgiving, which I do celebrate since my boyfriend is American. This year, after watching all three New Girl Thanksgiving episodes yesterday, I was inspired by none other than Jessica Day herself to come up with these looks:
Season 1, Episode 6: Thanksgiving
I think this episode was the one that made me fall in love with the show and made it my new Friends replacement. This dress is probably the closest to what I’ll be wearing, not too dressy but not casual either.
Season 2, Episode 8: Parents
The second Thanksgiving episode struck a chord in me since I am a child of divorce (twice). I’ve definitely had Parent Trap fantasies before and Jess couldn’t have picked a more classic red dress to go through with her plan. I might order this dress for Christmas.
Season 3, Episode 10: Thanksgiving III
Just thinking about this episode makes me laugh out loud. So many hilarious moments, but even if you’re not going camping this Thanksgiving, I think everyone should own a pair of overalls for special occasions that require eating. Like Joey said, “Jeans have no give”.
Happy Monday everyone!
Ok, you caught me. I’m a giant Taylor Swift fan. I happen to think that she’s an amazing lyricist and I saw her on concert with my sister last year. We just got tickets for her upcoming “1989” tour. Since her album dropped, I have been listening to it non-stop. So this post was kind of inevitable…
“I Know Places”: Ray-Bans to hide from the paparazzi
“Welcome To New York”: NYC will always be one of my favorite places to visit and who knows, maybe one day live in
“Shake It Off”: The better to dance with
“Style”: Red lip classic
“Wildest Dreams”: For some reason, I pictured the nice dress from the song as white
“Blank Space”: These heels look like a daydream but are probably a nightmare to walk in
“Wonderland”: I couldn’t not include a cat item
When winters comes along, all I wanna do is curl up under blankets and hibernate until spring. Alas, duty calls and I actually need to go out into the world. Luckily I found some nice pieces to get me through this season:
1. Who says sweaters need to be boring?
2. The perfect winter party dress
3. Can I just live in this?
4. Preferably worn with tights
5. Love the textured knit
